Public Housing Revitalization

Since incorporation in 2004, NKA has provided strategic and programmatic direction and support to public housing authorities from coast to coast.  Our first assignment was as the Administrative Receiver of the Housing Authority of New Orleans in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.

Our management team and affiliated partners possess wide-ranging experience directing large scale public housing  mixed income projects. We are especially skilled at recovery of HUD designated “troubled” properties” with particular expertise in:

Program Management & Fiscal Compliance

  1. Program Management –  We provide planning, organizing, staffing, control, and leadership necessary to ensure high level performance for client programs.
  2. Forensic Auditing – To enhance our ability to fully assess the performance of public housing agencies, NKA added a forensic auditing capability. With this skill set we able to more fully assess an agency’s:
    • Internal financial controls, with particular emphasis on areas vulnerable to fraud and abuse.
    • Current financial policies and procedures.
    • Financial and auditing organizational structure.

Management & Professional Services

We are also skilled at leading other disaster recovery initiatives including relocation, demolition, temporary housing and managing the construction of replacement housing.
